Max Verstappen’s fortune has surged by almost £44 million over the past year, boosting his total net worth to just below £230 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has ascended in the rankings of Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to 264th place from 322nd last year.
Despite celebrating his 28th birthday in late September, Verstappen remains the youngest individual on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022. Initially entering the list as the 500th person with a net worth slightly exceeding £105 million, Verstappen’s rapid ascent has seen him climb to the 428th spot a year later and then jump up 106 places last year.
The entry threshold for this year’s list stands at just under £123 million, with notable names like Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk failing to make the cut. Forbes has ranked Verstappen as the world’s 25th highest-paid athlete this year, with earnings approaching £59 million, primarily derived from his salary and winnings, supplemented by £4.5 million from endorsements.
Comparatively, Lewis Hamilton ranks higher at 22nd on the Forbes list, earning just over £60 million, with endorsements totaling £15 million pushing him ahead of Verstappen despite lower salary and winnings.
In an earlier report by the Daily Mail, Aston Martin allegedly offered Verstappen a massive £750 million deal to cover the remainder of his career, to which Verstappen responded, stating, “it’s a lot of money.” He later confirmed his commitment to Red Bull for next season, having signed a contract in 2022 that extends until 2028, rumored to be valued at around £40 million per season.
