“Mercedes F1’s Toto Wolff Supports Wife Susie’s Book Launch”

Date:

Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff attended London’s Lyceum Theatre to support his wife Susie instead of being at the Mexico City Grand Prix, a departure from his usual Formula 1 event presence.

The reason for his absence was to show his backing for Susie’s recently published memoir titled “Driven,” which details her remarkable journey from the Scottish Highlands to the pinnacle of motorsport. Approximately 2,000 guests at the venue were captivated by her story.

Prior to this, Wolff had participated in the Autosport Business Exchange in New York. Susie’s motorsport career began at a young age of eight in karting and progressed to single-seat racing in 2001 with Formula Renault.

Having spent three years in Formula 3 with Alan Docking Racing, Susie faced challenges due to an ankle injury during her debut season. Subsequently, she competed in DTM from 2006 to 2012 before transitioning to a development driver role at Williams in Formula 1.

A significant milestone in her career was being the first woman to participate in a Formula 1 weekend since 1992 at the 2014 British Grand Prix. After retiring from Formula 1 in 2015, Susie took on the position of brand ambassador for Mercedes the following year, a role she currently retains.

Furthermore, she has assumed the role of Team Principal for Venturi Racing in Formula E and serves as the managing director of the all-female racing series, F1 Academy. While absent at the Mexico City GP, Wolff closely monitored his team’s performance.

Despite a less successful outing for Mercedes, with Kimi Antonelli placing sixth ahead of George Russell, Lando Norris of McLaren clinched victory, with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen securing the other podium spots.

In the Drivers’ standings, Russell is currently fourth with 258 points, trailing leader Norris by 99 points, while Antonelli holds seventh place with 97 points. Mercedes sits in third place in the Constructors’ standings with 355 points, just one point behind Ferrari, while McLaren leads with 713 points from 13 victories and 30 podium finishes.

Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL, and more. The broadcaster will showcase a minimum of 215 live Premier League games next season, an increase of up to 100 matches.
