Police provided an update following an incident where a mother and her child were ejected from their vehicle during a crash. The infant is expected to fully recover after being rescued from under the overturned car, as shown in a dramatic video released by authorities at a busy motorway.
Law enforcement responded to the scene on Thursday morning after receiving reports of the mother and child being thrown from the car during the accident. Body camera footage shared online by the Fort Worth Police Department captured the intense rescue effort, with an officer rushing to the overturned vehicle to locate the child while a distressed woman cried out for her baby.
With the help of other drivers who had stopped at the scene, the officer coordinated efforts to lift the car. After instructing them to move the vehicle, the officer managed to reach the child’s leg and pull them to safety as the car was raised.
Initially unresponsive, the child eventually showed signs of life after officers administered aid. Both the mother and child are expected to recover fully, according to law enforcement. The police department emphasized the challenging situations officers face in the line of duty and commended the bravery of the responding officers.
Police Chief Eddie Garcia referred to the rescued child as a “little angel” in a social media post, praising the officers for their courageous actions. The department expressed gratitude to the citizens who assisted in the rescue efforts, concluding with appreciation for the life-saving efforts of Sgt. Nichols and Officer Bounds and the prompt response from the community.
