The King and Queen graced the annual flower show, which relaxed its ban on gnomes for only the second time in history, with the previous instance occurring in 2013 to commemorate the centenary of the show. During their tour of the garden, the Queen, adorned with a bee brooch, expressed her admiration, while Charles savored the scent of a rose named after Sir David, a King’s Foundation ambassador.
The King admired a floral installation featuring roses named after him, Beckham, and Titchmarsh, skillfully crafted by floral artist Hamish Powell. The garden’s design aims to ignite curiosity nationwide to promote gardening, with a framed newspaper cutting from the King’s 1995 Christmas card displayed in the shed.
Upon their arrival at the Chelsea Flower Show, the royal couple were welcomed by notable figures, including RHS President Keith Weed and General Sir Adrian Bradshaw. The Queen’s sister, Annabel Elliot, also attended, posing with Beckham earlier.
