A tragic incident unfolded in a Las Vegas hotel room where a mother fatally shot her daughter before taking her own life, according to law enforcement officials. Tawnia McGeehan and her daughter Addi Smith were discovered deceased at the Rio Hotel and Casino after they failed to attend a cheerleading competition. The police found a note in the room as well.

However, subsequent requests prompted hotel security to enter the room where Tawnia and Addi were found unresponsive. Both victims had gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives concluded that the mother shot her daughter before turning the gun on herself.
