“Neighbor Confesses to Rutherglen Grandmother Murder”

Date:

A woman, Clare Kilduff, aged 40, has admitted to the murder of a 61-year-old grandmother, Ann Coll, in Rutherglen, near Glasgow, just before Christmas. The incident occurred on December 22, 2023, when Ann was found severely injured at a residence on Newfield Place and unfortunately passed away at the scene.

Ann, who hailed from Donegal, Ireland, was a familiar face in the local neighborhood, often spotted walking her collie dog, Lola. Following Ann’s tragic death, a thorough investigation was launched, utilizing surveillance footage and doorbell videos to gather evidence.

Investigators discovered that Ann’s last known interaction was with her granddaughter, captured on CCTV footage at a nearby store a day before the incident. The footage showed Ann entering the shop wearing specific clothing items and interacting at the checkout counter.

Clare Kilduff, a neighbor of Ann, was identified as a suspect and arrested over a month later on February 2, officially charged with the murder. Detective Superintendent Lynsey Watters emphasized zero tolerance for such violence within communities and expressed solidarity with Ann’s family and friends during this challenging time.

Watters stated, “Violent acts like this have no place in our society, and our law enforcement team remains dedicated to ensuring justice for the victims and their families. We appreciate the cooperation and assistance received from the community throughout our investigative process.”
