“New PC Game ‘Mr. President’ Simulates U.S. Presidency”

Date:

The most recent Steam Fest focuses on showcasing video games that draw inspiration from or have real-world board game counterparts.

To mark the launch of the Steam Board Game Fest, a developer has introduced its game in Early Access, specifically targeting individuals with a keen interest in US politics.

For those critical of Donald Trump and confident in their ability to manage the Oval Office more effectively, the newly released PC game “Mr. President” offers a chance to demonstrate their skills.

This new title is a digital adaptation of the board game “Mr. President: The American Presidency 2000-2020,” allowing players to immerse themselves in the significant historical events that shaped America and the global landscape over two transformative decades.

Gamers will be tasked with guiding the US administration through pivotal moments in American history, including real-life events like 9/11 and COVID-19, alongside fictional scenarios that mirror general political trends.

According to developer Exia Games, “Mr. President” presents a sandbox simulation of the U.S. presidency, challenging players to tackle the demands of the Oval Office, engage with rivals such as Russia and China, address crises from 9/11 to COVID-19, and strategically deploy the U.S. military against terrorist groups and rogue nations.

Players will also need to appoint Supreme Court justices, handle political and personal scandals, run re-election campaigns, and collaborate with Congress to enact new legislation.

Fans of the original board game will appreciate the enhancements made in the video game version, streamlining administrative tasks that previously slowed down gameplay and providing a seamless board view for a more immersive experience.

Setting up new scenarios is quick and effortless, eliminating the need for extensive preparation each time players wish to engage in the game.

The Steam Board Game Fest will be ongoing from January 26 until 10am PDT/6pm GMT on February 2, offering “Mr. President” at a discounted price of £16.79 throughout the event.
