“Newlywed Couple Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver”

Date:

Two young newlyweds tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident involving a suspected intoxicated driver. João Pedro Prudêncio Cardoso and Maynara França Schio were fatally injured while riding a Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle in the early hours of the morning. The collision occurred with a black Ford Ecosport driven by Dyonatha Chaves Oliveira, 36, who was allegedly driving above the legal alcohol limit. The couple, who had recently married on August 28, passed away at the scene of the incident on the PA-160 highway in Parauapebas, Brazil, around 1 am on Sunday.

Following medical treatment, the accused appeared in court the next day and is facing charges of manslaughter aggravated by intoxication. Prosecutors advocated for his pretrial detention due to the alleged violation, but the defense highlighted his lack of prior criminal record, stable residence, and employment.

Ultimately, Judge Juliana Lima Souto Augusto granted bail set at £2,090 (BRL 15,000) with conditions that include the seizure of his driver’s license, mandatory monthly court appearances, and restrictions on leaving the district without permission. Investigations into the tragic deaths of the young couple are ongoing.

In a separate incident, a fatal road collision involving five teenagers resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy in the UK. The accident, which involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa, occurred on Jackson Heights Road in Lancashire. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where the male driver was pronounced dead, and the four teenage passengers sustained minor injuries.

Authorities reported that the vehicle veered off the road and landed in an embankment, with the driver found unresponsive behind the wheel. The injured teenagers were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
