The National Hockey League has announced the tragic passing of journalist Jessi Pierce and her three children in a fire incident in Minnesota over the weekend. The community has been sharing condolences for Jessi, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the NHL expressed deep sorrow: “The entire National Hockey League family extends our thoughts and sympathies to the Pierce family following the loss of Jessi Pierce and her three young children. Jessi was a dedicated member of the NHL.com team for a decade and had a great love for our sport. She will be dearly missed.”
Authorities from the Fire Department confirmed responding to a distress call in White Bear Lake early Saturday morning. Witnesses observed flames emerging from the house, indicating potential occupants inside.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered one adult and three children deceased. An investigation into the fire’s cause is currently underway.
The Minnesota Wild organization also mourned the tragic event, stating, “The Minnesota Wild is devastated by the tragic passing of Jessi Pierce and her children. Jessi was a caring individual who deeply valued her family and community. She made significant contributions as a passionate advocate for hockey while covering the Wild and NHL.
