“No Evidence of Iran Targeting UK, Cabinet Official Confirms”

Date:

A high-ranking Cabinet official has affirmed that there is no intelligence suggesting that Iran is specifically targeting the United Kingdom. This statement comes in response to Israel’s alert regarding Tehran’s development of long-range missiles capable of reaching major European cities. The incident occurred when the regime targeted the US-UK base Diego Garcia, located around 3,800km away in the Indian Ocean. Despite one missile failing and another being allegedly intercepted by a US warship, there is no indication that the UK is a direct target for Iran.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) took to social media to report that the Iranian regime had launched a long-range missile with a potential reach of approximately 4,000 km. The IDF highlighted concerns raised during Operation Rising Lion in June 2025, indicating Iran’s intentions to create missiles with a similar range, posing a threat to multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. While Iran denied these allegations, the IDF emphasized the global danger posed by the Iranian regime’s actions.

In response to questions about the possibility of Iran targeting European capitals, Cabinet minister Steve Reed reassured the public that there is no evidence to suggest such intentions. He emphasized the UK’s robust military capabilities in safeguarding the nation from potential threats, whether domestically or in protecting assets and nationals abroad. Reed remained steadfast in asserting that the UK would not be drawn into any potential conflict.

Addressing concerns about fuel shortages amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Mr. Reed clarified that there is currently no need for fuel rationing. He assured the public that they should continue purchasing fuel as usual, with the government having contingency plans in place if the situation were to change. Reed highlighted previous interventions to support citizens, especially in instances where rising prices led to significant financial burdens, such as in the heating oil sector.

Overall, the government remains vigilant and prepared to address any emerging challenges, ensuring the safety and well-being of the UK population amidst global uncertainties.
