A prominent technology firm specializing in AI-powered software is providing a £60,000 annual internship opportunity to recent high school graduates. Palantir Technologies is encouraging young individuals to forgo university debt by applying for its Meritocracy Fellowship program. Successful candidates will engage in full-time work at the company’s London office for five months, receiving a pro-rata salary of up to £60,000.
Participants may have the chance to secure a permanent position at Palantir with a potential salary increase, although this is not guaranteed. The internship aims to attract individuals interested in pursuing computer science studies at university. Applicants must have completed their A-Levels or equivalent qualifications by the fellowship’s commencement in October 2026.
The internship period will last until February 2027. Louis Mosley, the executive vice president and head of Palantir UK, expressed the company’s commitment to nurturing top tech talent in the UK and providing young adults with a direct pathway into the workforce alongside skilled engineers from around the globe.
Mosley emphasized the value of learning through practical experience at Palantir, highlighting the rapid evolution of technology and the company’s belief in the potential of the next generation of British tech talent to drive advancements in AI for societal benefit.
This initiative comes at a time when concerns are rising over the Plan 2 student loan system, which charges interest based on inflation rates. Chancellor Rachel Reeves recently announced a freeze on the salary threshold for loan repayments, acknowledging the system’s flaws while affirming the government’s commitment to addressing broader youth education and employment challenges.
