“Paris Bomb Plot Thwarted: Suspect in Custody”

A man was taken into custody for allegedly trying to set off an explosive device outside a Bank of America branch. The potential terrorist incident was disrupted early this morning as the individual attempted to trigger the bomb on Rue de la Boétie in Paris.

Law enforcement seized the device, which contained a 5-liter clear container with an unidentified liquid and approximately 650 grams of explosive powder. According to various French news reports, the incident occurred around 3:30 am, with the device strategically placed in front of the building.

Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, commended the swift response of the police prefecture team in preventing a violent terrorist act in Paris. He emphasized the ongoing need for heightened vigilance in such situations.

The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) confirmed launching an investigation into charges related to attempted damage by fire or dangerous means in connection with a terrorist plot. The charges include the manufacture, possession, and transport of an incendiary or explosive device with intent to cause harm, in connection with a terrorist enterprise, and involvement in a terrorist criminal association.

According to reports, the suspect, a man claiming to have been born in 2009 and stating his Senegalese nationality, is under investigation.
