“Plus-Size Fashion Brand, Live Unlimited, Faces Administration”

Date:

A fashion brand specializing in plus-size clothing, retailed by Next and Marks and Spencer, is facing the possibility of entering administration. Live Unlimited has initiated the process by filing a notice to appoint administrators, triggering a temporary legal protection against creditor actions for ten days.

Reports indicate that Irwin Mitchell will oversee the administration proceedings for Live Unlimited. The company founders, Rachel Heather and Tracy Egan, established Live Unlimited in 2012, initially as a small collection and later expanding into a full-fledged brand in 2017.

Recently, Live Unlimited collaborated with Nordstrom, a department store chain, to sell its range of clothing in sizes 12 to 28 in the United States. Meanwhile, another fashion label, founded by Samantha Cameron, the wife of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, is also winding down. Lady Cameron confirmed that the upcoming winter collection will be the last for her Cefinn brand.

Expressing the difficulty of the decision, Lady Cameron mentioned the challenges in making the brand profitable amidst rising costs. She informed followers on Instagram about winding down operations at Cefinn after eight years of highs and lows in entrepreneurship.

The brand, named after a combination of the Cameron family initials, aimed to cater to modern, practical women who appreciate fashion without compromising their dignity and intelligence. Despite recent strong trading figures, the decision to close Cefinn was driven by challenges in the fashion wholesale sector, cost pressures, and international trading restrictions.

Lady Cameron hopes that the Cefinn brand will endure in the closets of its supporters for many seasons to come.
