“Police Seek Information on Assault near Leicester Service Station”

Police are seeking information following an incident where a woman was reportedly assaulted near a service station in Leicester. The assault took place on Baines Lane, a road connected to A47 Hinckley Road, close to the southbound M1 services in Leicester Forest East, at approximately 6:45 pm on Saturday, April 25. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was attacked while walking along Baines Lane towards Hinckley Road.

According to a statement from Leicestershire Police, the man assaulted the woman by pulling her to the ground and then fled towards the southbound services when she called for help. Authorities are conducting investigations in the area to locate the suspect, and specialized officers are offering support to the victim.

The victim described the perpetrator as a white man in his 50s, slim with grey hair and a grey beard, wearing a black and white short-sleeved top. Police are urging anyone who may have seen a man matching this description to come forward with information.

Detective Inspector Jenny Tattersall appealed for witnesses with dashcam footage from the services between 5 pm and 7 pm to contact the authorities. She emphasized that even seemingly minor details could be crucial in the investigation.
