Police confiscated 13 high-end sports cars, including Lamborghinis, a Ferrari, and a Porsche, after receiving reports of reckless and disruptive driving on the M11 motorway.
Essex Police responded to calls around 4.20 pm on Tuesday regarding a group of performance vehicles traveling northbound, which raised concerns among the public. Witnesses observed the cars accelerating and abruptly decelerating, with drivers reportedly braking heavily and causing traffic disturbances, as stated by Essex Police.
The drivers were accused of driving closely together and utilizing the hard shoulder to overtake other vehicles. Law enforcement intercepted the convoy at Junction 8 and issued warnings to 13 drivers for engaging in anti-social driving behavior.
Sergeant Will Willsher emphasized the seriousness of the reported behavior, citing the potential risks posed to other road users, particularly during busy travel periods on a major motorway. He commended the prompt response of the Roads Policing Unit in locating and penalizing the offenders, emphasizing that speed limits are crucial for everyone’s safety and must be adhered to by all drivers.
