“Popular Beauty Brand Malin + Goetz Enters Administration, UK Stores Shut Down”

Date:

Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has recently entered administration, leading to the closure of all seven of its stores in the United Kingdom. The affected stores are located in various areas of London, including Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards. This decision is expected to impact over 70 jobs within the company.

In response to the administration, online orders through the Malin + Goetz website have been temporarily suspended. A message displayed on the website informs customers that online ordering is currently unavailable but assures them of a return shortly. Despite the store closures, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products from third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.

A spokesperson for Malin + Goetz expressed regret over the situation, stating that after careful evaluation and consideration of various options, the company had no choice but to place its UK operations into administration. This move resulted in the closure of both stores and the head office, with job losses being an unfortunate consequence of the decision.

Although the website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, the exact timeline for its return remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz, originally established in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered a limited range of products catering to all skin types. Over time, the brand has expanded its offerings to include fragrances, body care items, and a diverse range of beauty products.
