In a court hearing today, it was revealed that a man described as a “predatory serial sexual attacker” was responsible for the murders of two vulnerable women and the rape of a third over an eight-month period.
Simon Levy, aged 40, allegedly targeted sex workers and drug addicts deliberately, believing he could evade detection. The trial accuses Levy, who is visually impaired in one eye, of assaulting his first victim in January 2025, leaving her severely injured.
Reports suggest Levy forcefully threw the woman to the ground, proceeded to physically assault her, and then strangled her while menacingly uttering threatening words. Subsequently, he is accused of killing Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March and Sheryl Wilkins in August of the same year.
Sheryl, aged 39, met her tragic fate in a Tottenham car park close to Levy’s residence and the Premier League team’s stadium, mirroring the location of the initial assault. Prosecutors outlined the case, emphasizing a pattern of predatory sexual attacks on three extremely vulnerable women in the early months of 2025.
The prosecution argues that the defendant is the common perpetrator behind the attacks, all of whom shared the characteristic of being sex workers or engaging in sexual services for remuneration. Levy was apprehended in September and charged with the murders of Sheryl and Carmenza, with DNA evidence linking him to the latter’s demise.
During the trial, it was disclosed that Levy, donning dark glasses and a gray sweatshirt, sat alongside prison guards as the case unfolded. The court learned that Levy’s first victim, a trafficked sex worker in her thirties, suffered brutal assault after Levy lured her with the promise of payment.
The victim recounted how Levy violently attacked her, causing severe physical harm, and proceeded to sexually assault her against her will. The victim, upon regaining consciousness, reported the incident to the authorities, leading to Levy’s identification and subsequent arrest.
Prosecutors allege that the murders were driven by sexual motives, with consensual encounters turning violent and non-consensual. Levy, residing in Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, has pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder, rape, grievous bodily harm, and suffocation against the surviving victim.
The trial is ongoing as further details emerge.
