“Prince Harry Honors Queen Elizabeth on 100th Birthday”

Date:

Prince Harry has marked the 100th birthday anniversary of Queen Elizabeth in a heartfelt manner, even though he resides far from the UK. The Duke of Sussex paid tribute to his late grandmother by sending a significant floral arrangement to her final resting place at Windsor Castle.

Despite stepping back from his royal duties in 2020, Harry has made occasional visits to the UK, often making a pilgrimage to Windsor to honor the Queen, with whom he shared a close bond during his childhood and early adulthood. However, their relationship reportedly strained after Harry’s departure from royal responsibilities.

In 2023, on the first anniversary of her passing, Harry privately visited the chapel during his stay in the UK to pay his respects away from the public eye. Two years later, he revisited her grave on the third anniversary of her death for a personal moment of reflection.

While Harry privately commemorated his late grandmother’s centenary, the Royal Family engaged in a series of public events. King Charles started the day by expressing heartfelt sentiments in a video tribute to his ‘darling mama,’ highlighting her unwavering dedication to serving the people.

Subsequently, King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with other senior royals, reviewed design proposals for the Queen Elizabeth Memorial at the British Museum. Princess Anne inaugurated The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent’s Park in London.

Following these events, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined other senior members of the Royal Family for a reception at Buckingham Palace with charitable organizations associated with the late Queen, as well as centenarians celebrating their 100th birthday on April 21.

After the Queen’s passing in 2022, Harry and Meghan Markle attended her funeral in the UK, where Harry shared an emotional tribute to his grandmother. Harry’s message reflected on the Queen’s global impact and unwavering commitment to duty and service.

The late Queen is interred at the King George VI Memorial Chapel alongside her husband, Prince Philip, who passed away in 2021. Also laid to rest in the historic chapel are her parents, King George VI and the Queen Mother, as well as her sister, Princess Margaret.
