Amidst the attacks, Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, hinted at a possible in-person meeting between Putin and Zelensky to solidify US-backed peace initiatives proposed by him and Jared Kushner. Witkoff expressed hope that the proposals put forward could lead to a summit between Zelensky and President Putin within the next few weeks, potentially bringing an end to the ongoing conflict.
