Vladimir Putin has issued threats towards Western nations, announcing the successful testing of a new “unstoppable” nuclear missile dubbed “Flying Chernobyl.” The Russian leader, claiming to possess the most advanced nuclear arsenal globally, shared details of a recent secretive flight test of the Burevestnik missile, boasting of its “unlimited range.”
During a visit to a military command post, Putin discussed the nuclear-powered missile with Russia’s top general, Valery Gerasimov. Simultaneously, Russian forces conducted a brutal overnight assault on Kyiv, targeting residential buildings and causing casualties, including children.
Putin highlighted recent nuclear war drills and emphasized the superior capabilities of Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces, surpassing other nuclear states. He confirmed the successful testing of the Burevestnik missile, designed for extended flight durations and capable of evading Western defense systems.
Gerasimov disclosed that the Burevestnik, also known as “Flying Chernobyl,” covered a remarkable distance during testing, showcasing its precision and maneuverability. Despite not being combat-ready yet, the missile’s performance in Arctic tests raised concerns due to its radioactive exhaust.
While Putin refrained from setting an end date to the conflict in Ukraine, fires raged in Kyiv following Russian strikes on residential areas. Amid the chaos, Putin’s envoy in the US blamed Ukrainian air defenses for civilian casualties, prompting condemnation from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky denounced the relentless attacks by Russia, targeting civilians and infrastructure, with a significant number of strikes reported within a week. The ongoing conflict continues to escalate, emphasizing the dire humanitarian situation in the region.
