Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the successful testing of a new powerful underwater weapon, referred to as the Poseidon high-speed torpedo. The torpedo, equipped with a nuclear warhead and propelled by its atomic reactor, is believed by Russian experts to have the capability to generate devastating tidal waves and cause severe damage to islands and coastal areas. The Russian government views this underwater nuclear drone as a critical asset in the event of a potential World War Three scenario.
Amid escalating tensions, Russian state television has repeatedly advocated for the utilization of the Poseidon torpedo against the United Kingdom. Kremlin-controlled media outlets have issued alarming statements suggesting that the UK would cease to exist if the Poseidon were to be deployed.
Vladimir Solovyov, a wealthy supporter of Putin, issued chilling warnings to the British public, insinuating that a catastrophic event involving the Poseidon torpedo could lead to the destruction of Britain. Solovyov further emphasized the ominous nature of the weapon by questioning the UK’s preparedness to withstand such an attack.
In a strategic move, the propaganda machine aligned with Putin recommended the evacuation of Russian diplomats from London and Edinburgh to safeguard against any potential strike. However, the individuals perceived as disloyal to Russia and residing in London were advised against receiving assistance for evacuation.
Solovyov, a prominent figure in Russian media, is among several well-paid individuals tasked with promoting Kremlin narratives and fostering animosity towards Western nations, particularly Britain.
Putin lauded the Poseidon torpedo’s development, highlighting its successful launch from a submarine and activation of the nuclear power plant. He praised the weapon’s potency, comparing it favorably to Russia’s most advanced intercontinental ballistic missile, the Sarmat (also known as Satan-2).
Reports indicate that the Poseidon torpedo, once operational, could achieve speeds of up to 115mph underwater and operate at depths exceeding 3,000ft. Capable of carrying nuclear warheads with yields of up to 100 megatons, the Poseidon poses a significant threat of catastrophic devastation.
