Extraordinary video footage suggests that Queen Camilla politely requested Princess Kate to shift positions during the formal reception of Donald and Melania Trump at Windsor Castle.
The slightly awkward moment occurred when Kate, 43, was engaged in conversation with First Lady Melania immediately after their arrival with President Donald Trump via helicopter, surrounded by tight security.
Kate and Prince William were the first to greet the Trumps upon their arrival at the Windsor Estate, engaging in friendly discussions as they proceeded to meet King Charles and Camilla outside Victoria House.
During the exchange, President Trump conversed with Charles while Camilla and Melania engaged in their own discussion. Princess Kate conversed amicably with Melania while the Queen observed the interactions.
After a brief chat, Camilla appeared to gesture for Kate to move aside, prompting Kate to bid farewell to Melania and rejoin her husband, William.
As they prepared to head to Windsor Castle for lunch, Camilla and Melania briefly conversed again as they lined up to board the horse-drawn carriages.
At the state banquet, Kate stunned in a hand-embroidered gold lace evening coat, showcasing her support for British craftsmanship. She also adorned herself with various royal orders and honors.
William looked elegant in a white tie and Windsor tailcoat, decorated with his own distinguished medals and honors. The royal couple shared a photo on social media ahead of the banquet, captioned “Ready for The State Banquet.”
