“Reform Party Candidate in Essex Faces Backlash for Racist Remarks”

Date:

One of Nigel Farage’s Reform party candidates has been found to have made racist statements, including referring to white people as “the master race.” Stuart Prior, who is running in Essex in the upcoming local elections, has been uncovered for a series of derogatory remarks made just a few months ago. These comments, which included celebrating violence against Punjabi and Sikh women, making derogatory remarks about black people’s intelligence, and derogatory comments about Muslims, were discovered in an investigation conducted in partnership with the anti-racism organization Hope Not Hate (HnH). When confronted with the evidence at his residence in Essex, Prior denied being racist but failed to explain his offensive statements.

Prior’s social media account, where he made these extreme comments, has reportedly been deleted earlier this year. He is contesting for a county council seat in Rayleigh West and also in Sweyne Park and Grange as part of the Rochford District Council.

Joe Mulhall, the director of research at HnH, expressed strong concerns about Prior’s views, labeling him as one of the most extreme and racist Reform party candidates they have come across.

In light of these revelations about Prior’s online activity, concerns have been raised about the Reform party’s vetting process for candidates. This incident follows a previous expose where another Reform candidate was found to be a supporter of the fascist leader Oswald Mosley.

On various occasions, Prior made offensive comments on social media, including endorsing violence against Punjabi and Sikh women, making derogatory remarks about the intelligence of black people, and referring to Muslims as “rats.” His comments have sparked outrage and highlighted the need for greater scrutiny of political candidates in the region.

Given the upcoming local elections in Essex, where Nigel Farage holds a significant presence, the selection of candidates like Stuart Prior by the Reform party raises questions about the party’s values and the kind of representation it aims to provide for the people of Essex.
