“Reform UK Candidate Embroiled in Racism Allegations Resurfaces in Makerfield”

Date:

A member of the Reform UK party, Adam Mitula, who faced suspension due to allegations of racism, including derogatory remarks about Jewish women, has been spotted campaigning in Makerfield. Mitula, who was suspended in February after incriminating messages were discovered on an online account linked to him by anti-racism organization Hope Not Hate, has resurfaced on the campaign trail for Nigel Farage’s party ahead of an upcoming by-election.

Despite the controversial messages attributed to him, Mitula appears to have been reinstated and has been actively participating in the campaign, as evidenced by photos shared on his Facebook page and his presence in Makerfield. The Labour Party has criticized Reform UK for allegedly promoting division in communities through their campaign tactics and has called on Nigel Farage to clarify Mitula’s current standing within the party.

Nigel Farage has expressed his commitment to giving his all in the election to prevent Andy Burnham’s return to Parliament. Burnham is expected to be announced as the Labour candidate for the vacant seat left by former minister Josh Simons. Although Reform UK has not yet named their candidate for the by-election, it remains uncertain what role Mitula will play in the upcoming campaign, considering his past suspension during the Gorton & Denton by-election earlier this year.

Mitula’s controversial online posts, which included the use of racial slurs and insensitive comments about the Holocaust, have raised concerns. Mitula defended himself by claiming that his remarks were taken out of context and asserted that he supported the Jewish community. Meanwhile, Reform UK has maintained confidentiality regarding Mitula’s disciplinary process, stating that they do not provide ongoing updates on such matters.

In a previous election, the far-right supporter Tommy Robinson endorsed Matthew Goodwin, who secured the second position in the Gorton and Denton contest, ultimately losing to the Green Party’s Hannah Spencer. Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Mitula, Reform UK has refrained from commenting on the specifics of his case, citing the confidentiality of their internal disciplinary procedures.
