Reform UK’s Ann Widdecombe was hospitalized following an incident while trying to rescue a mouse from her cat. The former Tory minister slipped on a bathroom mat and had to seek treatment at the A&E. Widdecombe, 78, who serves as Reform’s Immigration and Justice spokesperson, expressed gratitude towards the medical staff for their care in a magazine column.
Detailing her mishap, the ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestant shared that she slipped while attempting to save the mouse between Christmas and New Year. Widdecombe humorously remarked on the unpredictable nature of mice and their interactions with cats. Despite managing to release the mouse outside, she suffered physical discomfort the next day, prompting her visit to the hospital.
Widdecombe commended the efficiency and personal care she received at Newton Abbot Community Hospital in Devon, emphasizing the contrast to her previous experiences in larger hospitals. She appreciated the swift examination, X-ray, and discharge processes, highlighting the attentive and relaxed demeanor of the hospital staff.
