Workmen have been spotted working tirelessly at Frogmore Cottage in anticipation of Prince Andrew’s potential relocation, as per recent reports. This activity coincides with Andrew’s recent renunciation of royal titles due to his connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, leading to increased pressure for him to vacate the Royal Lodge. Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were reportedly offered Adelaide Cottage and Frogmore Cottage as alternative residences several months ago.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who resided at Frogmore Cottage in 2019, invested £2.4 million in refurbishments for the historic property. The couple was asked to vacate the cottage by 2023.
According to The Sun, Prince Andrew has supposedly agreed to leave the Royal Lodge but is interested in moving to Frogmore Cottage, while Sarah is leaning towards Adelaide Cottage. Remaining in Windsor would allow Andrew to stay close to his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as their children.
Insiders revealed that renovation work has been ongoing at Frogmore Cottage, with workers present day and night. The property, which was originally constructed in 1972 by Queen Charlotte as a retreat for herself and her daughters, has been primarily used to accommodate royal household staff since World War Two, with brief stays by the Sussexes and Princess Eugenie.
Buckingham Palace has refrained from commenting on Prince Andrew’s potential relocation plans or future living arrangements.
