Instead, they had to opt for a ‘holiday let’ for their stay.
Andrew temporarily moved to Wood Farm after being asked to vacate his Royal Lodge residence earlier this year. This property was where Prince Philip, his late father, had spent most of his final years. Plans were underway for Andrew to move to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate, which had undergone significant renovations recently. However, delays in the move prompted Edward and Sophie to stay at Garden House for their Easter break.
Efforts were made to hasten Andrew’s relocation to Marsh Farm, with Edward reportedly being the first family member to intervene and urge him to move swiftly. Deliveries and installations at Marsh Farm indicated preparations for Andrew’s eventual move, including security enhancements and accommodations for staff.
The King had instructed Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge, his residence for over two decades, amid financial turmoil and allegations linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew’s status as a prince and Duke were revoked by the King, who also set deadlines for Andrew to clear the property. Royal aides were seen clearing out Andrew’s belongings from Royal Lodge, including staff accommodations.
A mobile home was delivered to Sandringham to provide lodging for security personnel overseeing Marsh Farm, with costs covered by the King. The situation escalated as the King took decisive actions to address Andrew’s living arrangements and financial difficulties.
