“Rush for Sun: Families Snag Cheap May Half-Term Trips”

Date:

Families are eagerly booking last-minute holidays for the upcoming half-term break in a surge of vacation planning, as reported by the renowned travel company, On the Beach. The company has witnessed a significant increase in bookings for late May getaways, with a spike of up to 40% in recent weeks. Experts anticipate a mixed weather forecast for the half-term period, predicting both warm weather and heavy showers.

In a bid to attract more travelers, On the Beach highlights that a week-long holiday during the May half term is approximately £577 cheaper compared to the peak month of August. Other travel agencies and airlines have also noted a trend of delayed bookings due to financial concerns and uncertainties surrounding the Middle East conflict and EU airport delays.

Caspar Nelson, an expert at On the Beach, emphasized the aversion of families to a rainy half-term, prompting a rush for sunny destinations like Spain, Turkey, and Greece. The company has already observed a rise in bookings, expecting another surge as the half-term approaches. Several enticing offers are available for late May trips, including affordable all-inclusive packages to destinations like Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and Antalya.

As families seek to escape potential drizzle at home, the convenience of guaranteed sunshine by the pool becomes a compelling choice. Travelers can take advantage of discounted rates and enticing deals for a memorable half-term getaway.
