Russia has issued a severe warning, stating that if President Donald Trump proceeds with his intentions to acquire Greenland, it could lead to catastrophic consequences globally. The President of the United States is reportedly keen on establishing nuclear strike capabilities on Greenland, the largest island on Earth, in order to gain a strategic advantage over Russia and China, as per Dmitry Rogozin, a key figure with ties to the Putin administration.
Rogozin, a senator supported by Putin and representing a portion of Ukraine, has a history as a former deputy prime minister, head of the Russian Space Agency, and former Kremlin representative at NATO headquarters in Brussels. He has expressed concerns that Trump’s proposed actions regarding Greenland could trigger a doomsday scenario. Allegedly, the acquisition of Greenland is linked to a US initiative for a sophisticated missile defense system known as the ‘Golden Dome,’ incorporating space technology, artificial intelligence, and a comprehensive defense structure.
According to Rogozin, Trump’s pursuit of Greenland is not a spontaneous decision but a strategic move aligned with the Pentagon’s agenda to shift away from negotiations with European allies and secure Greenland forcibly for deploying nuclear offensive capabilities and intercepting Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). This aggressive approach, as Rogozin warns, could disrupt the global strategic stability that has prevented the use of nuclear weapons since World War II.
Rogozin, who has been heavily involved in Russia’s development of the powerful Sarmat, or Satan-2, nuclear missile system, cautions that such actions could push the world to the edge of catastrophe. He emphasizes that the potential consequences of such a move could be irreversible and could lead to a scenario where the US believes it has gained nuclear superiority over Russia and China, ultimately leading to a catastrophic outcome.
Highlighting past attempts by the Pentagon to militarize Greenland in the 1960s with the Iceworm project, Rogozin underscores the current advanced state of technology that could make such endeavors more feasible now. He predicts that any potential nuclear conflict involving the US and Russia would likely unfold in the Arctic region due to its strategic importance for missile deployment and mobility.
Rogozin concludes by asserting that Washington’s strategic objective seems to involve neutralizing Russian missiles through a coordinated attack utilizing drones and cruise missiles, with Greenland playing a crucial role in this plan. The potential consequences of such actions, as warned by Rogozin, could lead to a catastrophic nuclear conflict that could have dire implications for the entire world.
