“Russian Nationalist Warns Europe of Trump Threat”

Date:

A warning from a Russian nationalist politician has been issued to Europe amidst efforts to respond to the latest threats from the US President. Aleksey Zhuravlev, aged 63, expressed concerns about leaders like Donald Trump, whom he believes holds a sense of superiority that has historically led to global crises. Zhuravlev suggested that in the event of a conflict with the US, Europe would seek refuge and protection from Russia.

The tensions escalated after Trump reiterated the US’s interest in acquiring Greenland for national security reasons. In contrast, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that Greenland’s sovereignty belongs to its people and engaged in discussions with Denmark regarding the matter.

In a post on Telegram, Zhuravlev highlighted Trump’s assertive actions, particularly in dealing with Venezuela and claiming territorial rights over Greenland. He criticized what he perceives as Trump’s unchecked ego and ambitions, warning that such leadership could result in catastrophic outcomes for the planet.

Zhuravlev, serving as the deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defence committee, previously suggested supplying nuclear-capable Russian missiles to Venezuela and Cuba following Trump’s authorization of CIA operations in Venezuela. In response to the US’s seizure of the Marinera oil tanker flying a Russian flag, Zhuravlev advocated for a strong retaliation, even mentioning the potential use of nuclear weapons as outlined in Russia’s military doctrine.
