Sarah Ferguson, facing financial difficulties, was reportedly in discussions regarding the cloning of the late Queen’s cherished corgis. The Duchess of York proposed a reality show where she would sell the clones to dog enthusiasts worldwide in 2023. Referred to as a daring and controversial business move by Hollywood producers, Fergie engaged with several US television networks to explore this concept.
According to a source close to the negotiations, Ferguson aimed to re-enter the television industry and generate income. The idea involved showcasing the Queen’s corgis on a program, potentially involving breeding and even cloning. Despite virtual meetings and email exchanges with TV executives, the project was eventually abandoned.
While pet cloning is permissible in the United States, with cloned pets fetching up to £75,000, the practice is not legally allowed in the UK except for research purposes. Notably, sending a skin sample from an animal to the US for cloning is permissible in the UK.
Previously responsible for caring for the Queen’s corgis Muick and Sandy after the monarch’s passing, Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor no longer reside together. Andrew resides at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate, following his departure from Royal Lodge. Despite their unconventional living arrangement, Fergie will be seeking her own residence separate from Andrew in Norfolk, while the corgis will remain under his care.
As Sarah Ferguson faces mounting pressure, including demands to provide sworn testimony in the US regarding her association with Jeffrey Epstein, a US congressman has expressed willingness to facilitate her testimony under oath. Not seen in public for over six months since details emerged about her prolonged relationship with Epstein, the former Duchess of York continues to navigate challenging circumstances.
In addition, Ferguson and Andrew’s living arrangements have evolved, with Andrew residing separately at Wood Farm, while Ferguson is in the process of finding her own place. Amid these developments, concerns surrounding her involvement with Epstein persist, prompting calls for her testimony in the ongoing investigations.
