Sarah Ferguson Vows to Avoid US Amid Epstein Fallout

Date:

Sarah Ferguson, who has faced disgrace in the past, is reportedly apprehensive about the possibility of facing inquiries from Jeffrey Epstein’s victims if she were to revisit the United States, according to an insider.

Although she had previously spent considerable time in America for business endeavors, the former duchess is now said to harbor concerns about returning, given the damaging information emerging from the Epstein case.

Recently, a US legislator urged Ferguson to provide testimony to Congress regarding Epstein’s illegal activities. Lawmaker Suhas Subramanyam requested her cooperation in a government investigation into Epstein’s illicit operations.

As per a source from the Daily Mirror, Ferguson has explicitly stated that she has no intentions of returning to the USA, following the revocation of her Freedom of the City of York title as another blow after losing her royal status and being asked to vacate Royal Lodge last year.

The insider informed the Mirror: “Sarah has made it clear to those around her she will never set foot in America again. She is deeply worried about the reaction she would face, whether from Epstein’s victims or scrutiny from Congress.

“She feels it would be unbearable and does not want to be put in a position under oath where she would be asked not only about Epstein but also about Andrew. It has not been a difficult decision despite how deeply entrenched in America she once was.” Being a non-US citizen, Ferguson, aged 66, is not legally obligated to appear before Congress or respond to the request.

Subramanyam’s letter to Ferguson stated: “The Committee is seeking information from anyone who has knowledge of Mr. Epstein’s criminal operations, and reports and released Department of Justice files reveal your close personal and business ties with him.

“As the Committee seeks justice for the survivors of Mr. Epstein’s criminal enterprise, and transparency for the American public, I respectfully request your cooperation with the Committee’s investigation.”

Following her divorce from the then-Prince, Ferguson turned to the United States for commercial activities and to enhance her public image.

She established a successful career in media and branding, serving as a prominent ambassador for Weight Watchers and appearing regularly on American television, including The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Her ventures expanded into publishing, with children’s books and lifestyle projects aimed at US audiences, alongside paid public speaking engagements and philanthropic work for children and families.

During her time in New York City, Ferguson engaged in circles related to media and finance, although financial struggles were alleviated to some extent by Epstein. She also dedicated time to charitable efforts in the US.

However, any thoughts of revisiting have been dismissed following her appearance in the recently disclosed files, which depicted a concerning level of closeness and familiarity with Epstein, even after his conviction for illegal
