A Scandinavian Airlines flight declared an emergency while en route from Copenhagen to Dublin. The crew of SAS flight SK537 activated a “Squawk 7700” signal, indicating a general emergency, at 11.36am GMT on Wednesday due to a medical crisis onboard, as reported by AirLive. The Airbus A320neo departed Copenhagen Airport at 10.45am CET (9.45am GMT) and alerted air traffic control towards the end of its journey to Dublin.
The emergency call occurred at 38,000 feet over the Scottish Flight Information Region, between Scotland’s southwest coast and Northern Ireland’s east coast. The aircraft was granted priority landing status and was met by emergency medical services upon arrival at the terminal.
The affected individual was a passenger, though SAS has not provided an update on their condition.

After performing a loop south of the airport, the plane safely landed back at Gatwick, underwent technical assessment, and later continued its journey to Porto, arriving several hours behind schedule.
