A shopper at Primark’s flagship store in Birmingham was shocked to witness a live mouse darting around inside a closed pillow package. The incident, captured on video by a customer named Giorgio, showed the rodent scampering inside a £12 memory foam pillow. Upon alerting the store staff, Giorgio mentioned that the employees seemed as surprised as he was about the unexpected discovery.
Originally from Italy but currently residing in Moseley, Giorgio recounted his initial sighting of the small mouse inside the sealed plastic wrapping of the pillow. Another customer who witnessed the mouse reportedly laughed and left, while Giorgio left the store feeling compelled to thoroughly clean everything in the future, even items that are sealed.
Video footage revealed the mouse attempting to escape from the packaging, followed by sightings of the rodent moving freely within the store. It was observed entering a basket filled with pillows and snacking on sweet wrappers. Giorgio noted that the mouse seemed to have established a nest underneath some cushions in the store.
In response to the incident, Primark assured that they were taking immediate actions to address the issue. A company spokesperson emphasized their commitment to upholding high cleanliness and safety standards in all their stores. Despite the ongoing response to the situation, the store remains open to customers as usual.
