A woman recently shared the shocking incident where her sister-in-law maliciously splattered black paint on her wedding dress as an act of revenge during a family feud. Gemma Monk, the bride, had her £1,800 white gown ruined by Antonia Eastwood, who mistakenly believed Gemma had intentionally caused her harm at a prior family wedding.
Following the unexpected attack, Gemma was forced to quickly change into a different dress moments before her wedding on May 24, 2024, at Oakwood House in Maidstone. Eastwood fled the scene, and she was later given a suspended prison sentence for her actions.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gemma revealed that tensions had been escalating since Eastwood’s own troubled wedding to Gemma’s brother. The fallout from that event led to blame being directed at Gemma for various mishaps.
Despite having a rocky relationship with her brother and sister-in-law, Gemma was determined to proceed with her wedding. She recounted the distressing moment when black paint was splashed on her dress, causing chaos but ultimately not derailing her long-awaited marriage to Ken, her partner of 19 years.
Reflecting on the incident, Gemma expressed her shock at the premeditated nature of the attack, describing how Eastwood and her husband had hidden and waited for her at the wedding venue. The couple, uninvited to the event, later left for Manchester where they currently reside.
Adding to the turmoil, the dress sabotage occurred shortly after Gemma’s benign stomach tumor diagnosis. Eastwood received a suspended custodial sentence and community work as a consequence of her destructive actions.
