“Six-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Struck by Car”

A tragic incident occurred over the weekend resulting in the death of a six-year-old boy who was struck by a car. The incident took place on Anchor Drive in Ellesmere Port around 11:40 am on Sunday, April 19. The child was hit by a black Infiniti FX30D, leading to severe injuries.

Following the accident, the boy was rushed to the hospital accompanied by family members, where he was met by police and paramedics near Whitby Sports and Social Club before being transferred to the Countess of Chester Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away in the hospital.

The family of the deceased has been notified, and they are receiving support from specialized officers during this difficult time. A 48-year-old local man was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and driving without proper licensing. He has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Detective Sergeant Iain Condliffe from the Cheshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed the tragic nature of the incident and emphasized the need to uncover the exact circumstances surrounding the event. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision on Anchor Drive or has video footage of the incident to come forward. Additionally, individuals present during the child’s treatment near Whitby Sports and Social Club are encouraged to provide information to aid the investigation.
