The majority of major TV and internet providers in the UK have recently raised prices in 2025, primarily in April. Sky has now announced a new price increase that will impact users of its NOW broadband service.
In May, it was confirmed that certain users would be subjected to higher charges, and these changes are set to take effect starting tomorrow, on July 4.
Sky has disclosed that the forthcoming adjustments will apply to subscribers of the Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre plans. Customers who have enrolled in these broadband bundles through NOW can anticipate a £3 per month increase in their bills.
Acknowledging the potential dissatisfaction among customers, a spokesperson for NOW acknowledged, “We understand that price hikes are never well-received. However, in order to enhance and invest in our services, pricing adjustments are necessary. Beginning July 4, the monthly costs of our NOW legacy Broadband products, including Fab Fibre, Super Fibre, and Brilliant Broadband plans, will each rise by £3.”
Initially, NOW had offered users the option to terminate their service without any charges within a 31-day window after notification of the price increase.
If you wish to avoid the additional charges, it is advisable to check your emails to confirm if you are still within the aforementioned timeframe. Those eligible can switch to a different service provider without incurring early exit fees.
Additionally, NOW emphasizes that the price modifications reflect the company’s ongoing investments to enhance its products and services. The company states that the price adjustments are necessary due to rising cost pressures, including wholesale expenses and investments aimed at service enhancement.
For existing NOW customers, reviewing your contract is recommended. Even if you are not a NOW subscriber, exploring alternative service providers and offers is a prudent move. Besides established providers like BT, Virgin, and Sky, numerous smaller alternative networks in the UK offer competitive deals with faster speeds at lower prices.
For instance, Community Fibre is presently providing free broadband for the initial three months under a special deal.
