“Sky Sports Unveils Interactive Sidebar for F1 Viewing”

Date:

The F1 season has kicked off with George Russell claiming victory in Melbourne. Throughout 2026, the racing calendar will span various international locations, offering ample excitement for fans. Sky has announced a significant upgrade for its customers, introducing new features to enrich the live sports viewing experience.

This upcoming update will revolutionize the way viewers engage with races, providing an interactive sidebar during race weekends. This feature will offer tools like Race Control access, Recap for quick replays of exciting moments, and real-time in-race standings. Additionally, dedicated driver and team pages will grant fans access to onboard cameras, enhanced race data, detailed explanations, and improved navigation on the homepage.

To access these new features, Sky Sports subscribers using Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q devices will receive them for free. While an official launch date has not been confirmed yet, the update is expected to be rolled out later in the season at no additional cost to existing Sky Sports subscribers.

In a statement to Express.co.uk, Sky highlighted the introduction of an immersive sidebar for TV viewing during race weekends, offering fans more flexibility and choice for the 2026 season. Apart from the F1 upgrade, Sky has unveiled an Ultimate TV subscription plan, bundling major streaming services like Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app at a reduced monthly price of £24. This package is deemed a valuable offering, consolidating approximately £20 worth of streaming services under one subscription.

Included in the £24 Ultimate TV plan are services like Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads (starting from March), HBO Max Basic with Ads (starting from March 26), Hayu (starting from July, with selected shows available from March), and access to over 130 Sky channels.
