Social media sensation Emman Atienza, known for her presence on TikTok, has passed away at 19 in her Los Angeles residence, prompting a heartfelt tribute from her family.

The sad news was confirmed by her parents, Filipino TV personality Kim Atienza and businesswoman Felicia Hung, who shared an emotional message on social media. Emman’s mother expressed profound sorrow, stating, “We regret to announce the unexpected loss of our beloved daughter and sister, Emman.

“She brought immense joy, laughter, and love into our lives and those around her. Emman had a unique ability to make others feel acknowledged and understood, fearlessly sharing her struggles with mental health.

“Her genuine nature resonated with many, offering solace to those in need. To honor her memory, we urge you to embody the values she cherished: empathy, bravery, and kindness in your daily endeavors. With love, Kim, Feli, Jose, and Eliana.”

Her talent agency also extended their sympathies on social media, mourning the loss of Emman Atienza and conveying condolences to her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly as a cherished member of the Sparkle and Status by Sparkle community.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed to PEOPLE that Emman’s passing was a result of suicide. Having relocated from the Philippines to Los Angeles earlier this year, the young influencer had amassed a significant following online, with over 224,000 Instagram followers and 900,000 TikTok followers. Known for her candid discussions on mental health, she reflected on the highs and lows of the past year in a post from January.

Emman was vocal about social and political issues, often facing backlash for her progressive views in her home country, as she revealed in a post on her TikTok account.
