A woman driving in Merseyside experienced a harrowing incident when a stranger entered her car and stabbed a man in the back seat, likened to a scene from a horror movie.
The unsettling attack occurred on Park Road South in Merseyside, where the woman had stopped to help a man being pursued by two individuals on a moped. After offering the man refuge in her car, one of his pursuers unexpectedly entered the vehicle and proceeded to stab him in the leg.
The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the chaotic event to the Liverpool Echo. She described how she swiftly accelerated to dislodge the assailant from her car, enabling the injured man to receive urgent medical care. Merseyside Police later confirmed that the victim was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Recalling the distressing scene, the woman initially mistook the man for being under the influence of drugs due to his erratic behavior of trying car door handles and shouting. As the situation escalated with the arrival of the moped riders, she urged the man to seek refuge in her car. However, one of the assailants brandished a knife and proceeded to attack the man in the back seat.
In a bold move, the woman accelerated to dislodge the attacker, causing a commotion with blood spatters in the car. Despite the chaos, she managed to drive the victim to safety and assist him in reaching his home. The woman mentioned the distressing cries from the man’s family upon their arrival.
The injured man, identified as an 18-year-old, sustained two stab wounds to his leg but was discharged from Aintree Hospital after treatment. Following the incident, a 17-year-old boy from Noctorum was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent, robbery, and possession of a controlled Class B drug. He has been conditionally bailed as investigations continue.
The woman and her mother, who were both deeply shaken by the ordeal, have since recovered as authorities proceed with the case.
