“Straus Family Creamery Ice Cream Recall Due to Metal Contamination”

Date:

Ice cream enthusiasts are advised to inspect their freezers following a popular organic brand’s recall of various products due to possible metal fragment contamination. Straus Family Creamery has voluntarily pulled some of its Organic Super Premium Ice Cream flavors from shelves in 17 US states over concerns of “metal foreign material” presence. The recall impacts specific containers of Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, Dutch Chocolate, and Mint Chip ice cream sold in states like California, Florida, Texas, New Jersey, and Washington.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) verified that the affected products were delivered to retailers starting from May 4 and can be identified by the “best by” dates on the containers’ bases. While no injuries or illnesses associated with the products have been reported, consumers are advised against consuming the ice cream from the affected batches.

The California-based dairy company initiated the recall as a precautionary measure and is collaborating with retailers to remove the affected products from the market. Customers are instructed to discard the products and can request replacement vouchers through the company’s recall website.
