A tragic incident occurred on Towans Beach in Cornwall as a surfer lost his life despite rescue efforts. The victim, identified as Paul Norman Faulkner, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services, including the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and Devon and Cornwall Police, responded to the incident on Monday, April 13.
Reportedly, Faulkner experienced a medical emergency after surfing in the Sandy Acres area of Hayle. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the unfortunate event, stating that the man was found deceased on the beach. The family of the deceased man has been notified of the incident.
An inquest has been initiated into the death of Mr. Faulkner from St Ives, with proceedings scheduled for a later date.
