Police have initiated a homicide investigation following the death of a teenager with injuries indicating stab wounds in the well-liked coastal town of Whitstable.
Authorities from Kent Police responded to the incident in Whitstable where a 19-year-old male was discovered with fatal wounds.
Reports suggest that the air ambulance landed around 3 am at the nearby Westmeads Recreation Ground, as per Kent Online.
Despite the dedicated efforts of the emergency response teams, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kent Police has officially commenced a murder inquiry with a forensics tent set up next to the Windsor House flats block on the street.
A police spokesperson stated, “Kent Police received a report of a serious assault on Belmont Road, Whitstable, at 2.04 am on Friday, April 3, 2026. Responding officers and paramedics discovered a 19-year-old male with injuries consistent with stab wounds. Regrettably, he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

A resident of Belmont Road recounted waking up to a significant police presence in the area, mentioning that the road was closed and likely to remain so throughout the day.
The street continues to be sealed off by law enforcement and is anticipated to stay inaccessible for several hours.
