Tesla driver sparks beach uproar in Cornwall

Date:

A Tesla driver faced criticism for driving his car onto a beach in Cornwall and leaving it parked there. The situation escalated when the driver responded rudely to locals who confronted him, leading to the vehicle getting stuck in the sand on Tregirls beach in Padstow. Witnesses reported that the white Tesla, displaying a parking permit for an upscale London district, attracted attention as it was driven directly onto the beach in front of puzzled onlookers and remained there for about four hours before efforts to move it began.

According to a beachgoer from Truro, Cornwall, the driver was approached and informed that parking on the beach was not allowed, to which he responded with offensive language. The witness recounted the exchange, stating that the driver disregarded the parking regulations and was disrespectful when asked to relocate the car. The witness expressed frustration, highlighting that local residents have more pressing matters to attend to than dealing with such behavior.

By 5 pm, the driver was still struggling to dislodge the vehicle, reportedly seeking help from a local farmer. The path used by the driver to access the beach is crucial for emergency services during life-threatening situations, as demonstrated just a day earlier when emergency services responded to a distress call involving a man in cardiac arrest at Tregirls Beach. Despite efforts to rescue him, the man tragically passed away, leaving behind grieving family members who were supported by bystanders during the incident.
