The US National Weather Service confirmed two tornado touchdowns in Kansas City, leaving over 68,000 homes without power. Emergency responders rushed to secure neighborhoods affected by downed power lines and fallen trees.
Despite power outages interrupting the Scotland-Haiti match, England also faced disruptions as they arrived in Kansas City just before the weather worsened. Thomas Tuchel’s England squad had to cut short a community training session at Swope Soccer Village due to the tornado sirens. Fans were sent home, and the team sought shelter indoors following safety alerts about potential flying debris.
