“Traffic Chaos on M25: Collision and Fire Cause 80-Minute Delays”

Date:

Motorists are experiencing significant travel disruptions this morning as sections of the M25 are at a standstill due to a collision and a vehicle fire. National Highways have reported a complete stoppage of traffic on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 29 in Romford and junction 28 in Brentwood.

Commuters are encountering lengthy delays of approximately 80 minutes on their way to work. The delays are a result of a vehicle crash and fire, leading to backlogs that extend all the way back to Lakeside shopping center.

Although all lanes have been reopened, traffic flow on the anti-clockwise carriageway remains stagnant. The incident, which occurred around 6:20 am, prompted the response of emergency services, although it is currently uncertain if there have been any injuries.

Traffic was brought to a halt on the M25 stretch while clearing up an oil spill from lanes two, three, and four. While traffic is gradually resuming on the anti-clockwise carriageway, drivers are cautioned to anticipate delays exceeding 80 minutes during rush hour.

Motorists are advised to allot extra travel time or consider alternative routes to navigate through the approximately eight miles of congestion that has built up after the incident in Essex. National Highways have confirmed the reopening of all lanes on the M25 anti-clockwise between junction 29 and junction 28 after the collision and vehicle fire, causing significant delays.
