“Tragic Collision Claims Life of 5-Year-Old in Newry, Northern Ireland”

A tragic incident resulted in the death of a five-year-old girl who was involved in a collision with a van in the Springfarm Heights area of Newry, Northern Ireland. The collision, which occurred on Sunday, June 21, involved a black Ford Tourneo van and the child. The young girl was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Following the incident, a 40-year-old woman, who was the driver of the van, was arrested at the scene. Detective Inspector Stewart from the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit stated that the driver remains in custody as investigations into the circumstances of the collision continue. The Carnagat Road area is currently closed at its intersections with Springfarm Heights and Stony Hill.
