A young child, aged four, has tragically passed away after being discovered unconscious in a swimming pool and receiving immediate CPR efforts from family members.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on the evening of Friday, January 9 at Bobs Farm in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Emergency services were urgently summoned to the scene to try to save the boy’s life.
Despite the combined efforts of police and ambulance crews to resuscitate him, the child, who remains unidentified, succumbed to the ordeal just days after the Christmas holiday.
According to a statement from a New South Wales Police representative, the boy was found unresponsive in the pool, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Family members initiated CPR before paramedics took over and transported the child to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition, where he later passed away.
Authorities from the Port Stephens/Hunter Police District have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, with a formal report to be prepared for the coroner.
