The partner of professional golfer Jake Knapp, Makena White, has passed away at the age of 28. They began their relationship in August 2023 but went public in 2024 after Knapp’s first win at the Mexico Open.
Knapp, who turned professional in 2016, has achieved one career victory and secured four top-10 finishes this year. Despite his successes, he did not qualify for Team USA in the ongoing Ryder Cup.
White, a Canadian, worked in surgical sales, specializing in providing medical equipment to vascular and cardiac surgeons. She was known to be a sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about hockey and golf from a young age.
A statement shared on social media by White’s friend confirmed the heartbreaking news of her passing this week. The message expressed deep sorrow and described White as a unique individual with a loving and joyful spirit.
The couple had been seen enjoying the scenery at North Berwick for the Genesis Scottish Open, where Knapp finished tied for 22nd. White had expressed her admiration for Knapp in a touching Instagram post, celebrating their journey together and expressing her love for him.
