A man, Dean Potter, who had been trying for eight years with his partner to conceive a child, tragically passed away unexpectedly during a trip celebrating their 11th anniversary with his pregnant fiancée, Zoe Adams. The couple, aged 34 and 31 respectively, were at Haven Caister-on-Sea holiday park in Norfolk in September 2025 when the incident occurred. Zoe, who cared for her mother full-time, recounted how Dean collapsed in their caravan in the early hours of the morning, leading to his untimely death.
Despite appearing healthy, Dean’s sudden collapse was due to a previously undetected heart condition that caused his left ventricle to fail, as revealed in a post-mortem examination. Zoe described their trip as romantic and joyous, filled with celebration as they had just discovered they were expecting a baby after years of struggling to conceive.
The pair had planned a short vacation from September 23 to 26, enjoying various activities such as dinner dates and seaside strolls. Zoe’s heartbreaking account detailed how she found Dean on the floor of their caravan, prompting her to perform CPR and call for medical assistance. Despite efforts to save him, Dean did not survive the incident.
In support of Zoe, Dean’s sister, Louise, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Dean’s funeral expenses and to assist with the costs associated with the baby. The campaign has already gathered a significant amount of donations. Louise expressed her grief over Dean’s premature passing and her hope for the well-being of Zoe and the unborn child.
